I confess that I’m one of those people, having now two pairs of Birkenstock sandals. And why are they so famous? Madrid sandals are the ones that look most similar to the classic flip-flops, having a wide strap at the front that holds your foot. They’re great both to walk around the house or for a short stroll.

Arizona

They share many similarities with the Madrid sandals, but instead of one strap they’ve two. Arizona sandals are unisex and were originally made of leather, but now they exist in a huge variety of colours and materials. However, the brown ones made of leather continue to be one of the most desired, though lately there’s also more interest in metalized colours, like copper.

Gizeh

Gizeh sandals are Birkenstock’s alternative to thong sandals. They consist of a T strap and are one of the most famous in the fashion world, due to their simple yet stylish design at the same time. As you’d expect, they come in several colours and materials, being one of the latest novelties the ones made of EVA, even lighter and ideal for the pool.

Mayari

Also like thong sandals, the Mayari sandals present one of the brand’s most feminine designs. Instead of a T strap like the Gizeh, they consist of two thin straps and one loop around the big toe. They exist both made of Birko-Flor, synthetic material patented by the brand, and leather. As you’d expect, you can also see them in a huge variety of colours and patterns.
