Ankle Boots for all tastes!
With the immense variety of models that Fly London offers us in this Autumn Winter collection 2015, it’s tough to sum up it all in just only one post. So, today on the EscapeShoes blog, we’ll specifically talk about their wonderful ankle boots.
However, as we look at all the ankle boots available, we noticed a common aspect between all of them, which is certainly part of this Portuguese brand’s identity. And it’s that, in addition of thinking about your comfort and wellbeing, it also takes into consideration making shoes that are easy and quick to put on, perfect for any woman with a full schedule. With that in mind, our post today will be divided into two parts:
- Ankle boots with laces or zippers
- Ankle boots with elastics and openings on the shaft
As you may have noticed, the ankle boots that are in the first category present the traditional metallic zippers and laces, while the ones on the second section present more modern elements to help you at the time of wearing them, such as elastic pieces and vertical openings on the sides of the shaft.
Ankle boots with laces or zippers
Therefore, on this part, we’ll talk about the ankle boots that have laces or zippers to help you put them on more easily. Truthfully, the use of these two elements, as well as of buckles, is one of the big bets in this new collection. Despite being more traditional, they give a more relaxed and even bolder touch to the shoes. We would also like to point out that you may find some models with laces and zipper simultaneously, in which the laces have a slightly more decorative role, thus giving them even more style.
As you look at all the Fly London ankle boots that we have available at EscapeShoes, you can see that there are a lot that fit into this category, but on this post we present to you two models which are personally some of my favourites:
As you can see, the first pair of ankle boots is characterized for having laces. Despite their colour being similar to the shoes’ leather, their thickness makes them stand out and match really well with their coppery eyelets, which start on the instep and go upwards the shaft to the top. However, it’s not necessary to try laces up to the top. That’s right! If you prefer, you can fold the top of the shaft downwards, in order to show off their light brown suede and thus have a more relaxed look. And the best of all is that their chocolate brown colour makes these Myla Miga Ground very versatile!
So, if the first ones had laces, then the ankle boots on the second image must be the ones that have zipper, but where is it? Well, their zipper is a lot more discreet, but you can see it on one side of the shoes. It’s metallic and black, thus matching to perfection with their black trims on top, including their strap with buckle at the front that, as we previously mentioned, is also a characteristic element of this Fly London collection. Besides, these Plum Pary Camel ankle boots have a small wedge sole to provide you the best comfort possible and some extra centimetres of height at the same time.
Ankle boots with elastics and openings on the shaft
Even though the existence of elastic pieces on each side of the shaft is something that’s relatively new when compared with the use of laces and zippers, it’s always in fashion year after year. And that’s something that Fly London has certainly noticed, since it already includes it in many of its lines. In contrast, the vertical openings may appear closed when you are using the ankle boots daily, but they’ll be a big help when it’s time to put them on and take them off.
Comparing these two elements, you can say that there’s a common aspect between the two: they are on each side of the shaft. However, the difference between the two is easy to identity, since one is more evident and the other more discreet. Will you be able to find out which is which? Look closely at the images below:
As you can see on the first image, the elastics of the Yat Navy ankle boots appear in a more obvious way, even in a darker colour than their leather. The best thing about these elastics is that they adjust perfectly to your ankles, thus holding them without pressuring them. And since we already mentioned the wedge soles, there is no line that does it better than the Yellow line from Fly London. Their platform compensates the heel’s height stupendously well, and the two together provide you the comfort and the elegance that you’re looking for.
Lastly, I admit that these Logger Lok Suede ankle boots are my absolute favourites! Their taupe colour, the velvety suede, their dark brown strap surrounding the shaft, the toecap painted in silver in order to imitate a metallic plate… everything combined creates a pair of irresistible shoes! However, the best of all is really their openings on the shaft. Can you see them? Well, it’s hard to see them on the photo, but if you look closely, you’ll be able to see that the ankle boots are composed of two pieces, one at the front and another on the back. The front piece overlaps the back and it’s in this overlapping that you can find their openings. And their discretion is also complemented by the aforementioned strap, since it partially covers them.
Before we finish the post, we would like to tell you a secret about the models that we showed you today. Do you know of a common factor between all of them, besides their brand? It’s the fact that their soles are all made of rubber! Did you think that the last ankle boots had a wooden sole? Well, the truth is that it’s rubber that looks like wood. It’s a very clever trick from Fly London.
As always, you just need to go through out webpage to see all these models in other colours and even other different ones. And after deciding, you just need to buy your Fly London online at EscapeShoes! Let yourself be surprised by this new collection and share with us your favourite ankle boots!
