Happy Birthday EscapeShoes

Today’s a very special day and not only because it’s Friday (thank God). Well, today our small and young online store is 3 years old. And how did we decide to celebrate this special day? We decided to write this post to thank you and everyone else that supported us throughout these years. With that in mind, we hope you like it…

For those that already had the opportunity to read the About us page on our website, you should know a little bit about the history of our online store. And for those that hadn’t read it, to sum up, it all started in mid-June, 2012, with some tests in free sales channels and there was still some scepticism, since the answer that people gave us when we shared this idea with them was: “nobody tries shoes without trying them first”. In any case, we thought that we had to risk it and we bet on creating an online shoes store, mainly focused on offering a service of excellence.

This way, on August 28^th of the same year, the store was online and we received our first visit and our growth just continued to evolve. Up until now, seeing the result with our very own eyes, we’re still surprised with the progress of our “silly idea”.

It’s for this reason that we would like to dedicate our post to our clients that helped us to evolve, some that are with us almost since the beginning and others not so much. Despite the fact that, as I mentioned before, we started in June, we believe that this date would be more appropriate to call it our birthday, since it was the date of our first visit. And, of course, we would have not gotten so far without our clients.

Therefore, on this really special day, we want to thank everyone for their support and trust throughout these long 3 years. We would like to thank our customers that, with their comments, helped us to grow and to continue (we hope) on a good path.

We would also like to thank all our brands that accepted us as their representatives. They’re always thoughtful to clarify our doubts and to answer our requests and, of course, we also wouldn’t be what we are without their support.

Personally, despite only working here for little over 1 year, I feel that no matter how many thanks I write in this post, it wouldn’t be enough and there are still so many people to thank. To my colleagues here at our head office as well as at our physical store at Forum Sintra, and also to our colleagues that work continuously as programmers and to the photographers that idealize perfection, you have my most sincere thanks. As it is obvious, we also thank the bloggers with which we worked during this time. We may think that I’m being a little corny, but the truth is that without all these people that I mentioned, I believe that the online store wouldn’t be how like everyone knows it now.

We hope that you’ve liked this small post of ours, despite being different from usual, and we hope that you continue with us for many and many more years. And continue to send us your comments because that’s the only way we can evolve! So, with all of this, happy birthday to EscapeShoes!
