The colours of the year!

See the gorgeous colours for 2016!

Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2016, is a colour that transports us to nature and transmits us a sense of peace and relaxation. But many of you will ask… What is Pantone? Well, Pantone’s a corporation in the United States known worldwide for its colour system, “Pantone Matching System”, which every year chooses a colour that becomes the colour of the year. However, for the very first time, this year we don’t have one colour, but two.

For 2016, it was the contrast between urban and vegetation that served as a source of inspiration for designers that chose vivid colours matched with more classic and faded shades.

Shall we get to know this year’s colours?

The first colour’s Rose Quartz, a soft pink that transmits calm, compassion and composure, as the Institute indicates. This shade should not be confused for light pink.

The second colour’s Serenity, a sky blue that, as its name indicates, transmits serenity and “relaxation even during troubling times”.

The colours divulged by Pantone greatly influence the fashion industry, since the colour of the year critically intervenes in future trends. This year, the selected colours are very versatile, being able to be used together, with darker shades or with colours like purple, yellow or coral. And many brands include these colours in models that had a lot of success previously, such as the case of some that we’ll show you. Here on the EscapeShoes blog, we give you some ideas.

The first ones, as soon as I saw them I immediately fell in love, and they’re the Birkenstock Gizeh Shiny Snake Rose and Shiny Snake Sky.
