Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Yes, let’s start with the less pleasant ones. As much as it costs to accept, the new station is at the door and that time of year has come to cover your feet again. The good news is that next season’s shoe models even make you want to anticipate cooler temperatures. There is no need to do the rain dance, but control yourself by knowing this year’s Autumn / Winter trends because you will want them all!

We aren´t the ones who dictate them, but we make a point of following the trends that the main references in the fashion world have announced, to ensure that we have all the must-haves of the season in our online store.

We follow, among many others, the lista of Vogue’s proposals, which, in turn, brings together those presented in the parades of the largest fashion shows. Among them, the Première Vision show, in Paris, which is the biggest stage in the fashion world and is precisely the place where the bets of the main brands that, in turn, dictate the trends are presented annually.

As a curiosity, Portugal is usually present in this show with about 60 companies that show the best that is done in the country’s textile sector, including what concerns the manufacture and production, yarns and fibers, skins and tanneries, accessories and meshes.

Chunkies – thickness is beauty

 

It´s not exactly a novelty in the fashion world but the trend of chunkies is here to stay. The main brands apply this style in the most diverse models, including boots, sneakers or wellies. Fila is one of the brands that most uses the type of sole that gives rise to the chunky style and features several sneakers models, including the colorful ones that are in the image.

Pepe Jeans followed the same path in the previous collection and made the model we see above and which is still available. Lemon Jelly bet on irreverence by associating the chunky with the new wellies, which are already the brand image of this Portuguese company.

 

Embellishments and Notes

 

Simplicity increasingly present in the models of this collection but it is an adorned simplicity. Virtually all models have a detail (sometimes more) that makes a difference and there are ornaments that are clearly in vogue. The most obvious and transversal to almost all brands are the studs that are in force in almost all brands.

In the image we see the Carmela in heels with studs discreetly around the ankle, a note that makes the difference in the characterization of this model as more irreverent or more traditional.

The first image of the Cubanas presents several notes, but what is passionate about this model is the frill-style finish of the side elastic. The frill, which refers to traditional sewing, combined with the frontal pattern also sewn is part of the Fall / Winter trend of returning to everything that resembles hand made, natural and ancestral.

Lemmon Jelly boots have fur on the ankle and tongue, which is clearly another trend of the season. The model also features the line stitched around the outsole, another feature very present in the latest autumn and winter models. The detail of the outline in a more vivid color and the coat, give notoriety to the model that is still neutral and versatile.

High Boots

The tall barrel are still around and we are grateful. This warmth gives elegance to any look and allows you to use the shorter pieces of the mid season throughout the winter. The new proposal from Fly London comes in brown (as in the image) and in black and with a skin point on the heel that gives refinement to a neutral model.

Hunter, on the other hand, need no introduction. These high-top wellies are a winter must-have and the colors are increasingly versatile. The Cubanas star is also not deceiving. Even without experimenting, it is already known that comfort and quality are guaranteed in this sexiest high-heeled model with heels and, therefore, never stay in stock for long.

Shallow and neutral 

They are timeless and, basically, if we have one of these in the closet, we are always ready for any situation. Having to choose and limit the shoe closet, the main option should always be a shallow and neutral one precisely because we know it matches everything. However, neutral doesn’t need to rhyme with bored.

On the contrary, the brands made sure to include notes that add refinement to the simplest models. A widely adopted technique that´s very fashionable is the wear effect, mainly on the toecap, as we can see above, both in the Carmela and Cubanas models. These last ones also present the front part of the glue in gray / silver with shine, which makes the ankle boots more exquisite.

Lemmon Jelly, on the other hand, bet on a pattern that is back to fashion trends: the high school pattern. The model’s natural brilliance does the rest.

 

Platforms 

It may be an influence of the last century, but the truth is that platforms have returned in force and continue to set trends. Fly London continued a model that was the most successful last year and is available in black (as in the image above) and white.

Whether in boots or sneakers with a more casual or more informal style, adding a few centimeters to the sole always gives models a unique look. Leather platform Converse are irresistible and are also available in white. The Fila striped platform with the brand’s colors doesn´t require introduction to this model, which is the most sporty of the suggestions.

Military Ankle Boots 

The trend of the military look returns this Autumn more or less discreetly. In the Fly London boots model, the pattern is obvious and, whether in shades of brown and green (as in the image) or in black (as it is also available), it allows you to assume a decidedly military style.

The other options, both from Dr. Martens as Carmela, have a clear influence of this style but are more discreet and versatile. Comfort and quality are guaranteed in all models, it’s just a matter of choosing which one you prefer.
