Pedro Abrantes, being an entrepreneur, had the desire of creating innovative shoes made from sustainable materials. After reaching the conclusion that cork had all the features he was looking for, he made a partnership with Amorim Cork Ventures. By 2014, they created the group first start up, the shoe brand ASPORTUGUESAS.

They first started with flip-flops that are, as they lovingly put it, ego friendly. This means that they are environmental friendly and also friends of those who wear them. Since then they have created original shoe models and even ankle boots. All of them made with sustainable materials such as cork and felt.
